RIK MAYALL, who was badly hurt in a four wheel all terrain bike accident last year, has been re-admitted to hospital for further tests, it was learned last night. The 40 year old comedian reportedly collapsed at his home in Notting Hill, West London in front of his wife on Monday. He was taken into the accident and emergency unit of Charing Cross Hospital and has since been given a brain scan.
Mayall, star of The Young Ones and The New Statesman, suffereed serious head injuries and spent several days in a coma after falling off his all terrain bike and becoming trapped underneath the 600lb machine at his Devon farm last April. Doctors feared that he would die or suffer permanent brain damage and he spent months recuperating. A spokesman at Charing Cross Hospital said yesterday: 'He has had tests and he is fine and is going home tomorrow morning.' Mrs Mayall,42, with whom he has three children, Rosie,11, Sidney,9 and Bonnie,2, said :'Rik is doing fine. It's a blip.'
