Rik Mayall is set to bring back one of his most loved characters, Alan B'Stard - but this time he'll be a labour MP.
Mayall played the Tory MP Alan B'Stard in the hit eighties comedy The New Statesman and has revealed the character is set to return in January.
According to the Daily Mirror Mayall will resurrect B'Stard for a stage show written by New Statesman writers Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran.
Rik said: "It's going to be a live show rather than telly.
"It takes so long to get something on telly Blair would probably be gone by then anyway.
"Alan brought down the Thatcher administration. This time he will be New Labour, so look out Tony," warned Rik.
"It will be great if it gets off the ground and does bring down another government."
