Daily Mail: Mayall switches hospitals
Tuesday, April 21, 1998

THE comedian Rik Mayall was moved to a London hospital yesterday to be near his children.

Mayall, 39, suffered head injuries when a quad bike toppled on to him as he rode it at his country home in East Allington, Devon, 11 days ago.

He was transferred from Derriford Hospital in Plymouth to a hospital in the capital because two of his three children, Rosie, 11, Sidney, nine, and Bonnie, two, were returning to school there after the Easter break.

The Young Ones star's agent, Aude Powell, said everything was 'going well'. But she added: 'The swelling in the brain needs to go down. The crucial thing is peace and quiet in this recovery period.
